You can rent a villa, and see much of the wildlife right outside your window.

Renting a villa on St. Barths isn’t cheap, but it’s worth it. It will definitely be a vacation you remember for all your life when you stay in one of the local beach villas. These villas are clean, luxurious, and perfectly suited for those that love beach climate.

Animal Life

The interesting thing about the animal life on St. Barths is that they were all brought from other places. It seems that no species are indigenous to the island, and that sailors and visitors brought most of the animals on their own. Mongooses and turtles are two of the most common sights you’ll see here, with the Leatherback turtle being the foremost of these. There are also hawkbills and green turtles seen about in the water and beach areas.
As far as water life goes, eels and anemones are common enough. If you go on a snorkeling or diving trip, you might see anything from sea cucumbers, urchins, and all sorts of colorful and interesting fish.

Pelicans and other seaside birds are the main bird species in the area, although there are also doves, hummingbirds, hawks, and certain others.

Plant Life and Vegetation

St. Barths weather and terrain are both very arid, and therefore the plant life in the area is very much made up of cactuses and similar plants. There are palms aplenty, of course, and Madagascar trees, aloes, bougainvillea, and golden trumpet.

A few hours of exploration on the island could lead you to all sorts of new discoveries in the area. Even if you aren’t learned about the types of plants and animals, it’s still a both interesting and beautiful experience to see it all and get to know it first-hand.
